Alden was a minor character from Season Six of Smallville. Appearing in the episode "Reunion", he was a former classmate and friend of Oliver Queen's at the prestigious Excelsior Academy prep school. His younger self was portrayed by Devin Drewitz while his older self was portrayed by Sebastian Gacki.
History[]
During their days at Excelsior Academy, Alden and his friends regularly bullied Lex Luthor and his friend Duncan Allenmeyer. On October 26 1996, Duncan was hit by a car and left in a vegetative state.
In 2006, Alden and his classmates attended their ten-year reunion at the Academy. While conversing with Oliver and Lex, he smugly brought up Duncan and Oliver told him to drop the subject. While standing on the steps of the Academy doors, Alden made a solitary toast to Duncan, stating that he would still be a "loser" if he were there. At that moment, a large chunk of concrete falls from the roof and just misses Alden. Seconds later, the sword held by the bronze statue above suddenly falls and impales him, killing him instantly.
It is later discovered that Alden's death was no accident, that Duncan was still alive and had gained astral-projection powers after being treated with kryptonite-based medication. In his astral state, he had caused the sword to fall and kill Alden.
