Alejandro Borges was one of the four central characters of Dead Space: Aftermath. An expert engineer and knowledgeable of gravimetric distortions, he joined the crew of the USG O'Bannon as a member of the team assigned to stabilize Aegis VII as the planet started to come apart. He was voiced by Ricardo Chavira.
History[]
Some time before the Aegis VII mission, Borges was involved in a terrible mining accident that claimed the lives of fifteen miners and cost Borges his right arm. His severed arm was replaced with a cybernetic prosthesis, granting him enhanced strength in one arm.
Alejandro was part of the gravity stabilization team (consisting of himself; his cousin, Noah Pawling; and Omar Nayim) sent to Aegis VII to prevent the planet from destabilizing, while their accompanying team (consisting of Nolan Stross; Isabel Cho; Nickolas Kuttner; and Rin) supposedly measured gravity fluctuations. In reality, they were searching for fragments of the Red Marker. He was suspicious of the latter team's true purpose on the planet, and on his way to the gravity stabilization tower, he mentioned to his team that the latter teams' mission was suspicious. Later on, his cousin was killed by a hallucinating Kuttner. His flashback revealed the escape from Aegis VII, more information on the purpose of the USG O'Bannon, more details on the crew, as well as events that occurred after his cousin was killed by Kuttner.
When the Necromorphs infested the O'Bannon, Borges worked with Cho, Stross, Captain Campbell and (reluctantly) Kuttner in order to destroy the Marker fragment. During the crisis, he harboured resentment towards Kuttner for killing Noah and confronted Kuttner regarding the latter's hallucinations of his dead daughter.
Death[]
After his interrogation, Borges was told by the Lead Interrogator that he was free to go. However, as he was being escorted down the corridor, the guards shot him dead. This was because Borges had not been directly exposed to the Marker and was of no use to the Earth Government.
