Amanda Shepard is one of the main characters of the slasher-horror film Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. She is the mother of the film's protagonist Tina Shepard and is portrayed by Susan Blu, who is best known as a voice-over artist.
Biography[]
One night inn the fall of 1990, Amanda's husband John had gotten drunk and hit her, frightening their 10 year-old daughter Tina who ran out onto a boat and drove out to the middle of Crystal Lake. When John ran outside to apologise to Tina, Tina grew angry and unleashed a mysterious psychokinetic power that destroyed the dock her father was standing on, causing him to fall into the lake and drown.
In the years since her husband's death, Amanda has tried to help Tina overcome the guilt she has felt over the incident. This included sending her to psychiatrist Dr. Crews and having her spend some time in a mental institution. In 1997, she took Tina back to their old summer home at Crystal Lake on Crews' recommendation. Crews claimed that it would help Tina reconnect with the past and overcome her guilt, but in truth he wanted Tina to become stressed and use her telekinetic power all so he could exploit her for profit and fame. Amanda was unaware of this at first, but as time went on Tina experienced visions of a masked man killing the young people staying in the nearby cabin. While looking around the house for Tina at one point, Amanda walked into Dr. Crews' office and found evidence that the good doctor was studying Tina for his own gain.
Death[]
When Tina goes missing, Amanda and Crews go out into the woods to try and find her. During their search, they encounter Jason Voorhees who chases them and kills Amanda with a brush axe after Crews uses her as a human shield.
