Amilyn is a supporting antagonist in the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. He is a vampire and the right hand of the vampire lord Lothos, who sired him over 1200 years before the events of the film. He was portrayed by Paul Reubens.
History[]
Amilyn is reportedly over 1200 years old and has been Lothos's closest ally for centuries, having joined him in nearly every move, watching him killing several vampire slayers in the past and eventually finding himself moving with him to Los Angeles where Lothos became a powerful and respected vampire lord with Amilyn acting as his acolyte. During the 1990s, the two were brought into conflict with a new slayer Buffy Summers and her watcher Merrick Jamison-Smythe. Amilyn personally encountered first after trying to kidnap and turn her classmates Benny and Pike. Due to Merrick's inference, however, Pike escapes but Benny is indeed turned. He kidnaps more of Buffy's classmates following this and gets into an altercation with Pike which ends up leaving him with his left arm torn off, although Amilyn seemed more bothered about his jacket being torn.
He encounters Buffy and Pike a few more times during the film, most notably in the climax when after a long battle with Buffy, she manages to stake him after Lothos distracts him by playing the violin with a sadistic smirk on his face. Even though most vampires would die instantly from being staked, Amilyn instead took the time to mock Buffy and moan in pain for as long as possible, still on the floor grunting even after Buffy and Lothos had left.
A post credits scene shows Amilyn still groaning in agony in the stairwell, though he does eventually stop.
