Anatoli Knyazev (also known as KGBeast) is a DC Comics villain who was adapted for the big screen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In this film, Knyazev is a ruthless mercenary hired by Lex Luthor to aid in his plan to discredit Superman in the eyes of the public. He is portrayed by Callan Mulvey.
History[]
Knyazev was stationed in Africa as a member of a terrorist group led by General Amajagh. He had been planted there by maniacal industrialist Lex Luthor as part of a diabolical plot to portray Superman as an enemy of humanity. When Lois Lane was taken prisoner by Amajagh, Superman soon arrived to save her. Before he did, however, Knyazev began killing Amajagh's men and set it up to appear as though Superman was responsible for the killings.
Later on, Knyazev abducted Clark Kent's adoptive mother Martha as part of Luthor's scheme to pit Superman against Batman, who had been investigating Luthor's illegal operations. Though the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight did fight, they stopped before either could finish the other off when Superman mentioned that Lex had his mother.
Death[]
When Batman came in search of Martha Kent, Knyazev confronted the Caped Crusader along with a small army of mercenary thugs. Armed with a flamethrower, Knyazev prepared to roast Martha alive as Batman defeated each of his men. When Batman confronted Knyazev, he used one of the thugs' guns to rupture the flamethrower's fuel tank, causing it to explode and kill Knyazev.
