Anton "Tony" Wyzek is the main protagonist in the 1961/2021 musical drama film, West Side Story. He was love interrest with Maria in the majority of the film until the very end of the movie.
He was protrayed by Richard-Beymer.

1961 film[]
After Doc gives Anita's message, stated with Maria's apparent death. He runs away from Doc in distraught, shouting for Chino to kill him while in the streets of West Side. As he enters the playground, he grabs one of the fences, waiting for Chino for his sacrific. He then spots Maria and they both run toward them. However, Chino suddenly appears, immediately shoots Tony as they embrace each other. Chino arrives toward a now wounded Tony and Maria, just as the Jets and the Shark arrives. Tony eventually dies in Maria's arms while she attempts to sing "Somewhere" for him.
Angerly, Maria takes Chino's gun, berating the two gangsters for their hate for the deaths as detectives Schrank and Krupke arrives and she then sobs. Schrank then goes over to check on Tony's corpse, but Maria runs at his corpse and screams "DON'T YOU... TOUCH HIM!". After a few moments of silence, Maria gives her final word to Tony: Te adoro, Anton (I adore you, Anton.). The two gangsters unite and takes Tony corpse in a funeral procession and Maria follows them and the feud finally ends. Remorseful, Chino was taken away by Schrank and Krupke, ending the film on a whimper.
2021 film[]
After Valentina tells Tony about Maria's presume death, Tony gets deeply depressed and runs off from her store is distraight, entering through the demolition site. Tony cries for Chino, begging him to shoot him, just as Chino was seen seeing him inside of a half-demolished building. Just then, Maria appears at Valentina's store and sees Tony on site, much for his relieve. However at the same time, Chino suddenly appears. Maria screams "NO, DON'T!" to Chino, but he fatally shoots Tony twice on foot. Maria tries to sings "Tonight", to wounded Tony, however, he immediately dies in her arms.
Furiously, Maria takes Chino's gun, berating Chino and the gang members, declares that she can kill now because she has hate. She concludes that she still has one last bulliet to Chino, and then she falls in despair. She goes back to now dead Tony "Te adoro, Anton" (I adore you, Anton.), before shouts "NO, don't touch him!". The two gangsters (except for Chino), takes Tony's corpse and ended their feud together as a funeral procession, and Chino was taken by Valentina to the police as one of the police vehicles arrive to arrest Chino as the film fades to black.
