April Martens was a minor character from Season 11 of The Walking Dead. Appearing in the episode "The Rotten Core", she was a resident of the Commonwealth who had landed herself in debt. Sebastian Milton took advantage of her situation, offering to have her debt wiped out if she could obtain money for him by looting it from abandoned homes. April was one of many people that Sebastian used in such a manner.
April and twelve other Commonwealth residents were sent to loot a stash of cash from a house once owned by one of Sebastian's wealthy friends from before the apocalypse. Most of the group were killed before making it inside the house and two others killed each other afterwards. April was left locked in the panic room on her own for days until Daryl Dixon and Rosita Espinosa came to the house, having been sent by Sebastian to complete the job.
After Daryl reactivated the house's generator, he and Rosita opened the panic room. However, as they attempted to access the safe in the room, an alarm went off, drawing the zombies that were gathered outside. Daryl, Rosita and April shut themselves in the panic room as they broke open the safe and obtained the cash inside. Afterwards, they prepared to fight their way out, but Michael Mercer and Carol Peletier then arrived, having cleared a path through the undead. The group then covered themselves in zombie gore to camouflage themselves and walk through the horde and out of the house.
Death[]
As the group walked among the zombies inside the house, one zombie's clothing got caught on a piece of armour that April was wearing. Attempting to loosen the cloth attracted the zombie's attention and April was forced to stab the creature, but this riled up the other zombies and they attacked her. Daryl, Rosita, Carol and Mercer drew weapons and killed off the remaining zombies, but they were unable to save April, who had been disemboweled by the zombies.
