Aurelan Kirk (portrayed by Joan Swift) was a minor character who appeared in the Star Trek episode "Operation--Annihilate!" She was a citizen of the Federation colony on the planet Deneva where she lived with her husband George Samuel Kirk, the brother of Starfleet captain James T. Kirk.
In 2265, Aurelan saw her brother-in-law off when he began a five-year mission of exploration in command of the USS Enterprise. She was with her husband and their three sons.
In 2267, she was residing at the Deneva colony with George and Peter when travelers from Ingraham B brought flying parasites that quickly infested the colony. Aurelan was attacked and infected prior to Kirk's visit. Kirk discovered her in her home, extremely distraught. Under heavy sedation in the Enterprise's sickbay, she became coherent enough to provide valuable information about the parasites, but the creature within her opposed this effort, delivering increasing amounts of pain. Eventually, unable to withstand the strain, she died.
