Axel Burns (portrayed by Bruce Mahler) is a minor character from Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. He is the first character to die in this film and Jason Voorhees' 23rd victim overall.
Axel was a coroner at the Wessex County Morgue. In 1984, his mortuary was suddenly flooded when the police had recovered the body of mass murderer Jason Voorhees and the near two-dozen victims he had slain over the past few days. When Jason's body was transferred to the cold room, Axel and Nurse Robbie Morgan go into the room and are about to have sex while watching TV. Behind them, Jason's hand fell off the stretcher and touched Robbie, scaring her. Her mood ruined, Robbie stormed out of the cold room, leaving Axel to lock up Jason's body.
Death[]
Axel placed Jason's body into a mortuary drawer, but didn't close it properly. Little did he suspect that the homicidal maniac had come back to life and would remove himself from the drawer. While Axel was distracted watching TV, Jason grabbed a bonesaw and attacked Axel, tearing his throat open.
