Barranca is a character in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
History[]
Sometime prior to the movie, Belloq hired both Barranca and Satipo, two local con artists, to find a map. They were led to believe it was useless, but they kept it for themselves knowing it could be used as bait.
In 1936, Indiana Jones hired the pair as guides to find a golden idol despite knowing they can't be trusted. Barranca and Satipo journey with the professor deeper into the jungle. Soon he gets spooked by a macaw.
Sometime later, he ties one of the mules and afterwards says some tribesmen would kill them if they were found. Then he sees Jones with the map and attempts to shoot him but the professor uses his whip to disarm him and Barranca runs into the jungle.
Death[]
After escaping the temple, Indiana Jones sees that Belloq and some tribesmen arrived and later have shot the guide with many poisonous darts.
