Bartender

The Bartender (portrayed by Clu Gulager) is a main character in the horror-comedy film Feast. He is the barkeeper of the Bear Tavern.

Profile[]

NAME: BARTENDER

FUN FACT: SHOT 4 TIMES, STABBED 6 TIMES, BIT BY 1 SQUIRREL

LIFE EXPECTANCY: HORRIFYING DEATH IN 70 MINUTES

Overview[]

While the Bartender tends bar at the Bear Tavern, he doesn't own the establishment, that dubious honour going to Bossman. Given his age and occupation, he has likely seen and done a number of unsavoury things. He is one of the more level-headed and compassionate characters in the film. Unlike with the other survivors' profiles, his life expectancy is very accurate.

When the tavern is attacked by a group of monsters, the Bartender helps to lock the place down. He keeps a shotgun handy to protect the patrons, although a mishap occurs when he accidentally shoots a round through the ceiling and takes off Bossman's toe. When Tuffy goes upstairs to check on her son Cody, the Bartender and Beer Guy follow. After witnessing the Papa Beast devour Cody, the Bartender shoots at it, blasting off one of the horns of its bull skull mask. The creature then retaliates by vomiting a stream of bile and maggots which douses Beer Guy. The creature then departs and the trio withdraw back downstairs.

Throughout the horrifying ordeal, the Bartender does what he can to support the other survivors, getting involved with whatever plans they come up with to better their chances of survival. Towards the end of the film, however, he meets his end as the Papa Beast breaks into the bar to finish off the remaining survivors. After smashing Beer Guy's head, the beast knocks Bozo and the Bartender to the floor. It is at this point that the Bartender suffers a heart attack, though while he is on the floor, the monster slashes his throat with its claws.

Not Quite Dead...[]

As it turns out, the Bartender survives his heart attack and his neck wound wasn't deep enough to guarantee his death. He appears alive in the sequel, Feast II: Sloppy Seconds, as he is found hiding under a car by Biker Queen at the beginning of the film. She takes the Bartender hostage as she rides into town to find Bozo, who was partially responsible for the death of Biker Queen's sister, Harley Mom.
