Benjamin is a supporting character from Season 7 of The Walking Dead. He is a young man who resides in the Kingdom, a survivors' colony in Washington D.C., and is a close friend and guardsman to King Ezekiel. He is portrayed by Logan Miller.
History[]
Little is known about Benjamin's life before the apocalypse except that he lived somewhere in Washington D.C. with his father and younger brother Henry. After their father's death, Benjamin became Henry's new father figure. It is possible that he and Henry were present when the Kingdom was first established.
During his time in the Kingdom, Benjamin became good friends with Ezekiel, the community's leader. Benjamin served Ezekiel as both a guardsman and unofficial adviser, offering counsel to the "King" in times of uncertainty.
When Morgan Jones and Carol Peletier were brought to the Kingdom, Benjamin was quick to befriend Morgan. Having shown less than average skill with firearms or blades, Benjamin turned to Morgan to teach him how to use a staff and use aikido techniques in combat. Morgan also lent Benjamin his book The Art of Peace which had been given to him by Eastman, since Benjamin had already read every book in the Kingdom's library.
Death[]
In the episode "Bury Me Here", Benjamin joins Ezekiel, Jerry, Richard and Morgan on a supply drop for the Saviours. What the group are unaware of is that Richard has sabotaged the drop, removing a melon from the delivery and blocking the road to the drop site with shopping trolleys to make the group late. The purpose of this sabotage was to spark a conflict between the Kingdom and the Saviours and Richard had intended for the Saviours to execute him as punishment for the late drop. However, things don't turn out according to plan.
When the group arrive at the drop-off point, Gavin inspects the delivery to find that they are one melon short. He has Jared make an example of one of them so that they don't repeat the mistake in the future. Having been previously antagonized by Jared on previous drops, Richard was expecting Jared to shoot him. However, Jared instead shot Benjamin through the thigh.
Ezekiel, Richard, Jerry and Morgan take the wounded Benjamin to Carol's house as Benjamin is bleeding too quickly to get him to the Kingdom in time. Despite everyone's best efforts, Benjamin dies of blood loss. His brain is stabbed afterwards to prevent him from reanimating. After Benjamin's death, Richard confesses to Morgan his plan. When the Kingdom finish their drop the next day, Morgan kills Richard while Ezekiel and the Saviours watch.
