Benny (portrayed by Kett Turton) is a minor character from the TV series Gotham. Appearing in the Season 1 episode "Viper", he was a down-on-his-luck guitar player and drug abuser. One day, he is approached by a stranger who puts a vial in his guitar case. Though unsure of what the vial contains, Benny nonetheless takes the drug, inhaling its vapour.
A short while later, an invigorated Benny robs a convenience store, guzzling down numerous bottles of milk (due to a side effect of the Viper drug in his system). When the store clerk attempts to stop him, Benny easily tosses him aside, displaying great strength. Even more incredible, however, is Benny is strong enough to pull the store's ATM machine out of the wall and run off with it.
Death[]
Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock later find Benny beneath an overpass, surrounded by empty milk cartons and lying against the stolen ATM. He seems to be suffering severe withdrawal and pleads for the detectives to find the man who gave him the Viper so he can get more. When Gordon and Bullock approach him, Benny gets aggressive and throws them to the ground. He then hoists the ATM above his head intending to crush Bullock with it, but at that moment, the Viper wears off and its horrific side effects kick in. Benny's bones begin to crumble within his body as his strength wanes, resulting in him being crushed to death under the weight of the ATM.
