"It'll be just like old times, Luke. They'll never stop us!" - Biggs Darklighter, Star Wars
Biggs Darklighter is a minor character from Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope who was played by Garrick Hagon. He was a close friend of Luke Skywalker's during his life on Tatooine and had left their homeworld to attend the Imperial Academy on Prefsbelt IV three years before Luke left along with Obi-Wan Kenobi. During his time at the Academy, Biggs would encounter members of the Rebel Alliance during a mission aboard the Imperial frigate Rand Ecliptic. It was then that he came to understand that there was more to the galaxy than just the domination of the Empire and he joined the Aliiance after staging a mutiny aboard his ship. By the time he and Luke were reunited on Yavin IV prior to the Death Star attack, Biggs had become one of the Alliance's top X-Wing pilots and flew under the call sign "Red Three" during the Battle of Yavin.
Near the end of the battle, only three members of Red Squadron were remaining: Biggs, Luke, and Wedge Antilles. Wedge's fighter was damaged and he was forced to pull out, leaving only Luke and Biggs to complete the assault run through the Death Star's equatorial trench. Unfortunately, Biggs fell prey to Darth Vader's TIE X-1 fighter and was shot down, making him the last Rebel fighter to die in the battle.
