Dr. Boyd Sherman (portrayed by Dorian Harewood) is a supporting character in Season 2 of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. He was a psychologist whose name was among a list of names written in blood in Sarah Connor's basement, informing Sarah that the doctor would somehow be involved in the development of Skynet. The Connors would arrange to meet Sherman for therapy sessions, secretly bugging his office to spy on him and find out about his involvement with Skynet. After numerous sessions and finding out nothing that linked him to Skynet, John Connor had an attack of conscience and removed the bug from Sherman's office.

Dr. Sherman would also have sessions with Catherine and Savannah Weaver, attempting to help Catherine better connect with her daughter. Impressed with the doctor's ability to psychoanalyse, Weaver hired Sherman as a consultant for Project: Babylon, a program to develop a sentient artificial intelligence. Sherman was not entirely aware of what he was doing, but he helped to explain the meanings behind the images that the John Henry AI used to communicate.

Death[]

In the episode "Strange Things Happen at the One Two Point", a blackout occurs at the Zeira Corp building and John Henry reroutes emergency power to the server farms in order to keep itself functional. The AI redirected power from the ventilation system and Dr. Sherman ended up trapped in a sealed room with no air flow, eventually dying from a combination of heat exhaustion and lack of oxygen.
