Candice Hooper was a supporting character in the horror film Final Destination 5. She was an intern at Presage Paper who aspired to become an Olympic-level gymnast. She was one of the survivors of the North Bay Bridge Collapse.
History[]
Candice was on her way to a corporate retreat with her colleagues when Sam Lawton had a premonition that the bridge their bus was crossing would collapse and kill them all. Sam then panicked and ran off the bus, with Peter Friedkin going to check on him and also following, moments before the bridge collapsed as Sam predicted.
After the accident, Candice and the others attended the memorial service for the victims.
The next day, Candice headed to the gym with Peter to attend the last practice before her gymnastics competition. Candice was unwilling to go at first because she was still shaken up by the bridge collapse, but Peter eventually talked her into it.
Death[]
While practicing, Candice complained about the heat and urged her coach to fix the air conditioning. When the air conditioning unit was finally fixed, it began to shake and a screw came loose, landing on the balance beam. The screw went unnoticed by Candice, who nearly stepped on it.
While Candice was practicing on the high beams, a girl called Porter practiced on the balance beam and stepped on the screw. She fell off the beam, knocking over a bowl of powder which was then blown by a fan into Candice's face, temporarily blinding Candice while she was still swinging on the high beams. Unable to see, Candice lost her grip and flipped mid-air before landing on the floor, causing her spine to crack and her legs to be folded over her head. She died instantly with a lot of bleeding as Peter, her coaches, and the other gymnasts watched in horror.
