Carter Daniels was a minor character in the 2009 horror film, The Final Destination. He was a tow truck driver by profession and was also a shameless racist. He was a survivor of the McKinley Speedway disaster that claimed the life of his wife Cynthia.

History[]

On January 6th 2009, Carter and his wife Cynthia attended the Megatech 300 racing event at McKinley Speedway. As the couple were watching the race, Nick O'Bannon suddenly started causing a commotion after claiming to have experienced a horrific vision of a crash that would result in many deaths. As Nick made his way out of the stadium, he knocked over Carter's beer. Carter angrily followed Nick and his friends while telling Cynthia to stay put. A minute later, the disaster that Nick had envisioned occurred. Fearing for his wife's safety, Carter tried to go back into the stadium to help her, but the security guard George Lanter stopped him. What Carter didn't know was that he was one of the casualties Nick had seen in his premonition and surely would have died had he gone back in.

Following the tragedy, many townspeople came together to attend a memorial service for those who died at the stadium. Carter was also in attendance and was bitter towards the security guard who had stopped him for going back for his wife, directly blaming George for killing her while also throwing racial slurs at him. George told Carter that it was time for him to leave, but Carter warned George that his time was coming.

Death[]

Following the memorial service, a drunken Carter had driven his tow truck to outside of George's house where he planned to burn a wooden cross on the front lawn. While Carter was setting up the cross, the horseshoe-shaped key-chain hanging around the rear-view mirror of the truck fell and turned on the radio, alarming Carter. A six pack of beer then fell on the gear shift and the truck started rolling down the hill. Carter rushed to stop the truck, but the truck doors mysteriously locked on their own. He failed to notice when a gas canister in the bed of the truck tipped over and leaked out onto the road. As he shouted at the truck, Carter's pants were caught by the towing cable and he was dragged down the road. The chain struck the ground and created a spark which ignited the gasoline.

George rushed outside after hearing cries for help and found Carter being dragged down the street in flames. The trail of fire finally reached the gas tank on the truck and caused it to explode, blowing Carter to pieces. His severed head then landed on George's lawn at his feet.
