Carter Kounen is a supporting character in the action-horror film Blade II. A human servant of the Vampire Nation, he is a Familiar and close assistant to vampire overlord Eli Damaskinos. As far as any humans are concerned, Kounen is a lawyer for the European Health Consortium. He is portrayed by Karel Roden.
History[]
When the Vampire Nation sought an alliance with Blade to hunt down Jared Nomak and the Reapers, Kounen provided Blade with a great deal of information regarding this new enemy. What he didn't mention, of course, was that the Reaper virus had been intentionally manufactured by the House of Damaskinos in order to rid the vampire race of its hereditary weaknesses such as silver and sunlight. After Blade and the Bloodpack had exterminated the Reaper infestation in Prague's sewers, Kounen led a team of Familiar soldiers into the sewers to capture Blade.
Death[]
With Blade in their grasp, Kounen began conducting an operation to extract all of the blood from Blade's body so that the House of Damaskinos could create Daywalkers like him. Before the procedure was completed, a general alert was sounded as Nomak had breached the fortress. Whistler, having taken advantage of the confusion, had escaped Reinhardt's custody and took his guns. He entered the operating room where Blade was being kept and he angrily gunned down Kounen.
