Professor Charles Xavier is a heroic character in the Marvel Comics multiverse. He is a mutant who possesses incredible psychic abilities, capable of communicating with others telepathically over vast distances, controlling the minds of others and projecting his consciousness across the astral plane. As the world's foremost authority on human mutation, Xavier wants nothing more than to forge a world of tolerance and cooperation where humans and mutants and coexist in peace. With this goal in mind, Xavier founded the mutant superhero team known as the X-Men to act as a bridge between mutantkind and humanity, to protect those threatened by aggressive mutants or bigoted humans.
