Commander Thorp was a supporting character in the 2022 anti-Christmas film Violent Night. He was the leader of a group of mercenary soldiers known as the Kill Squad who were in the employ of Gertrude Lightstone, matriarch of the elite Lightstone family. However, in 2022, he betrayed the Lightstones by helping Jimmy Martinez and his crew when they invaded the Lightstone family compound on Christmas Eve.

At some point in his life, Commander Thorp formed an extraction team that rescued Rory Lightstone after he was kidnapped and the kidnappers were never heard from again. For this reason, Rory's sister Gertrude kept contact with Thorp in case her family was ever threatened again, unaware that he would eventually betray her.
Christmas 2022[]
On Christmas Eve of 2022, Gertrude called Thorp for help when her family was held hostage by Mr. Scrooge and his team of mercenaries. Thorp and his Kill Squad raced to the Lightstones' mansion on snowmobiles. When they arrived, they were greeted by Morgan Steel, one of the hostages who managed to escape. However, when he asked for their help, Thorp raised an assault rifle and shot him dead on the spot. It was then revealed that Thorp is in fact in league with Mr. Scrooge, who had promised he and his men a cut of the 300 million dollars in the Lightstones' vault. While greeting the Kill Squad, Scrooge told Thorp about a man dressed as Santa Claus on the roof and the squad started shooting at him, but Santa managed to evade their gunfire.
Thorp and his team managed to break into the vault only to find it empty, leading to Mr. Scrooge interrogating the Lightstones on where they hid the money. When Gertrude questioned how Mr. Scrooge was able to break into the vault so easily, Thorp revealed his allegiance to Mr. Scrooge and that he had a key to the safe. When Mr. Scrooge held a gun to the head of Getrude's daughter-in-law Linda, Linda's husband Jason finally revealed that he stole the money since he planned on running away with his wife and daughter on Christmas. He then led Scrooge and Thorp to the Nativity sculpture outside where he hid the money.
Just as they start collecting the money, Linda started shooting at the mercenaries, followed by Santa bashing them to death with a sledgehammer. Thorp then grabbed Getrude, taking her hostage as he ran for his snowmobile, but hit his head on a log and fell off, forcing him release Gertrude. He kept running away, leaving his gun behind.
Death[]
After Santa finally killed Mr. Scrooge by dragging him up a chimney with him, Thorp arrived at the scene and shot Santa, causing him to fall off the chimney. Just as he walked up to finish him off, he was suddenly killed by Gertrude, who held his own gun to his head and pulled the trigger, blasting his brains out.
In the mid-credits scene, Bert Lightstone posed with Thorp's corpse for his livestream, telling his viewers to believe in Santa or else they would end up like Thorp.
