
This article lists all of the various minor character deaths that occur in the anime series Cowboy Bebop.
Session #1: Asteroid Blues[]
- When his buyer asks for a demonstration of the Bloody Eye drug, Asimov Solensan uses the drug on himself, gaining superhuman reflexes. A group of gangsters from a rival crime syndicate burst in, shooting the barman, but in his drug-fueled fury, Asimov dodges the gangsters' shots and murders each of them.
- Katerina Solensan shoots a gangster inside the saloon.
- As Asimov and Katerina try to escape on a shuttle, two syndicate attack craft give chase. These craft are shot down by Spike and his Swordfish II.
Session #3: Honky Tonk Women[]
- Gordon, the owner of Spiders From Mars, shoots the courier of the decryption chip he was waiting for after learning that the chip was lost.
- Gordon sends one of his men onto the outer hull of his ship to exchange
W30,000,000 with Spike for the chip. However, the goon attempts to shoot Spike, but Spike is expecting the double-cross and uses the rotating turbine as cover. He then launches himself at the goon, knocks his gun away and turns off his magnetic boots before kicking him and sending him hurtling into space. - Gordon launches a volley of missiles at the Red Tail, but Faye reverses the polarity of one of the projectiles, sending it back towards Gordon's ship. The missile hits the ship's bridge, killing Gordon and his crew.
Session #4: Gateway Shuffle[]
- Spike and Jet are watching a bounty head in a restaurant at a Ganymede space port, but before they can make a move, the eco-terrorists known as the Space Warriors move in and shoot up the place, killing the bounty hunters' mark and several other people in the restaurant.
- Faye tries to help an injured spacer whose ship has been destroyed. The pilot tells her to warn the ISSP of the dangerous cargo he's carrying before dying of his injuries.
- A number of ISSP ships follow the Space Warriors' ship through the Wasteland Sector. However, the ship is merely a decoy and explodes, taking the ISSP craft along with it.
- The vial of Monkey Business that Spike slipped into Twinkle Murdock's pocket slips out in the low gravity of her ship. The vial smashes against a bulkhead, releasing the virus and transforming the Space Warriors into monkeys. While not shown on-screen, it is generally accepted that the now-feral Space Warriors would have died, whether by malnutrition after being trapped on their ship, or by causing so much damage in their feral state that their ship exploded or lost atmosphere.
Session #5: Ballad of Fallen Angels[]
- Carlos, a capo of the White Tiger Syndicate, forms an alliance with the Red Dragon Syndicate.After leaving his meeting with Mao Yenrai, his ship suddenly explodes, killing him and his crew.
- Mao's bodyguards are all slaughtered by Vicious and his henchmen.
- Spike meets with Vicious in a dilapidated church and one of Vicious' henchmen holds Faye at gunpoint. While the henchman is in the middle of threatening to kill Faye, Spike takes a shot and hits the goon right between the eyes.
- Before Faye runs out of the church, Spike guns down three of Vicious' goons and blows two up with a grenade.
- Spike shoots a henchman at the top of a flight of stairs, though gets wounded himself, as well.
- On the upper floor of the church, Spike shoots another goon in the head.
Session #6: Sympathy for the Devil[]
- Wen flags down a taxi, gets in, then shoots the driver and takes the cab himself.
Session #11: Toys in the Attic[]
- Throughout the episode, a strange, blob-like creature is running loose on the Bebop. It stings Jet, Faye and Ein, poisoning them. Spike goes on the hunt for the creature and later realises what it is: a Ganymede rock lobster he had left in a refrigerator for over a year. Spike later checks the fridge, seeing that the lobster has horribly mutated and turned the fridge into a nest. Spike then jettisons the fridge into space, but the creature is still crawling around the ship. Later, Ed stirs from her sleep and spots the lobster blob. In her half-asleep daze, she thinks the creature is pudding and she eats it.
Session #13: Jupiter Jazz - Part 2[]
- In a flashback of the Titan War, Gren and Vicious are talking in a trench when Vicious stands up and suddenly draws a knife. He wheels around and stabs the trench wall beside Gren's head. The camera pans to reveal that Vicious had actually stabbed a scorpion crawling near Gren's head.
Session #16: Black Dog Serenade[]
- Aboard a prison ship, Udai Taxim and Tucan are standing in a hallway filled with the bodies of dead guards.
- One of the convicts, Dig, gets angry when the pilot of the prison transport tries to reason with him and shoots the pilot in the back.
- Dig - A convict voiced by Hiroshi Shimaka (Japanese). After killing the transport pilot, he himself is killed when Taxim slits his throat with a blade hidden up his sleeve.
- As ISSP cruisers close in on the transport, Udai, pretending to be a guard, announces that he's releasing an emergency shuttle carrying four guards and twelve inmates. Upon release, the shuttle suddenly explodes and gun turrets on the transport shoot down the remaining police ships.
- One of the convicts is killed when Fad's ship slams against the transport's portside airlock.
- Fad gets to the bridge of the transport and shoots the convict at the pilot controls.
Session #19: Wild Horses[]
- The pirate crew consisting of George, Herman and Ruth attempt to disable Spike's Swordfish while in orbit of Earth. The Bebop crew, having previously ran afoul of the pirates, are able to use their own computer virus against them and cripple their ship. The pirates' ship explodes after colliding with orbiting debris.
Session #20: Pierrot le Fou[]
- Mad Pierrot guns down an official and his three bodyguards outside the C'est la vie billiards hall.
- Another ISSP official is killed by Mad Pierrot. After slaying four bodyguards, the deranged assassin murders the official and hangs his body on a broken chain-link fence.
Session #25: The Real Folk Blues - Part 1[]
- Spike and Jet are in a bar drowning their sorrows over the recent departure of Faye, Edward and Ein. The Loser Bar is suddenly surrounded by a Red Dragon hit squad who fire through the windows. Jet and Spike take cover while the bartender is showered with bullets.
- Spike manages to shoot one of the Red Dragon trigger-men whilst hiding behind the bar.
- Shin suddenly arrives to help Spike and Jet, shooting two of the gunmen.
- At the Mars airport, Faye encounters Spike's old flame Julia, who is being pursued by the Red Dragon. Faye draws a gun and shoots out the tires of the pursuing Red Dragon limo, causing the car to crash and potentially killing the driver and gunman.
- A fleet of Red Dragon zipcraft attack the Bebop, but are all shot down by the Swordfish and Red Tail.
- During his execution, Vicious' pet bird appears and suddenly explodes, raining down smoke bombs from its carcass. In the confusion, a shootout ensues between the Red Dragon guards loyal to the Van and those who were part of Vicious' coup. Ultimately, the old guard are all slain and Vicious is freed.
- Vicious personally executes the members of the Van, the elders who led the Red Dragon, thus completing his takeover of the syndicate.
Session #26: The Real Folk Blues - Part 2[]
- Red Dragon goons raid Annie's shop where Spike and Julia are holed up. Spike guns down one goon as they burst in through the door.
- Spike shoots another Red Dragon hitman that chases him up a flight of stairs.
- Julia shoots a gangster on an exterior staircase.
- On the adjacent rooftop from the shop, Spike shoots a Red Dragon goon on the staircase with a shotgun, shortly after shooting another goon on the ground.
- Julia is shot by another gangster, who is shot by Spike at the same time.
- Spike launches a one-man assault on the Red Dragon's headquarters, beginning with kicking a grenade into the foyer. It is unclear if any Red Dragon members were killed by the explosion.
- Spike shoots three Red Dragon members from an escalator.
- A trio of Red Dragon goons chase Spike up the escalator, but Spike remotely sets off a bomb he had planted on the escalator and the goons are killed in the blast.
- Spike shoots a Red Dragon goon in a corridor on one of the upper floors of the building.
- Shin emerges from an elevator and shoots a guard behind Spike.
- Two guards follow Spike and Shin, but fall victim to a remote bomb that Spike planted in the corridor.
- Spike shoots another goon who steps out into the hallway, but not before that goon shoots Shin.
