Cyrax is a yellow-clad cyborg ninja from the Mortal Kombat video games. Once a human warrior, he was a member of the Chinese mercenary clan known as the Lin Kuei. When the Grandmaster decided to modernize the organization, Cyrax was among several Lin Kuei warriors to be augmented into a powerful robotic soldier. Cyrax's alignment has shifted between his game appearances. In the Midway timeline, he was loyal to the Lin Kuei until his human mind was restored by the Outerworld Investigation Agency, after which he continued to work with them to secure Earthrealm from otherworldly threats. In the NetherRealm Studios timeline, Cyrax originally spoke out against the Cyber Initiative only to be forced to undergo augmentation against his will. He would later be destroyed by Sub-Zero when the ice ninja took over the clan.
