Dana (portrayed by Peggy Sheffield) is a minor character from Season 8 of The Walking Dead. She appears in the episode "Do Not Send Us Astray".
History[]
Dana was a middle-aged woman who lived in the Hilltop Colony following the zombie apocalypse. While living at Hilltop, she served the community as a medic working alongside Dr. Harlan Carson. Following Carson's death, Dana became the Hilltop's doctor.
Dana was shown to be condescending and overly critical of those less experienced than her. When Siddiq offered to assist with treating Hilltop's injured following a battle with the Saviors, she questioned him and gave him a hard time over his apparent lack of experience. However, Siddiq stood up for himself and showed her how capable he really was. Dana admired this, stating that she liked Siddiq before sending him back to work.
Death[]
Following the Saviors' attack on Hilltop, those who had been injured in the battle had been treated and were seemingly out of danger. However, the Saviors had been using weapons tainted with walker blood, so everyone they wounded with these weapons ended up suffering from infection. In the early hours of the morning, those who had been infected in battle died and reanimated as walkers. At 4:00am, Dana came over to the medical trailer to find the door wide open and a pool of blood spilling out of the doorway. She was then attacked and bitten by a zombified Tobin, dying from blood loss. Shortly after that, she reanimated herself and followed the other zombified residents into Barrington House where they attacked and killed several people sleeping inside. She was later put down by Daryl Dixon when he stabbed her in the brain.
