Dr. Fleming (portrayed by Adam Godley) is a minor character from the first season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Appearing in the series' third episode "The Turk", he was a medical scientist researching cellular regeneration, though he hadn't yet solved the issue of creating synthetic tissue.
In September 2007, Fleming's home was broken into by Cromartie, a damaged Series 888 Terminator sent back in time by Skynet to kill Sarah and John Connor. Cromartie's synthetic flesh had been destroyed after his last encounter with the Connors and he required new flesh in order to carry out his infiltration protocols. The android possessed all of the knowledge Skynet had on bio-regeneration and wrote the mathematical formula on Fleming's living-room wall. When Fleming came home from work to find an intruder, Cromartie showed the formula to him. Fleming understood it, but explained that he would need equipment in order to produce the synthetic flesh and a large supply of blood. Cromartie had already taken that into account, having robbed over twenty units of blood from a hospital earlier that day.
Fleming later mixed the synthetic flesh formula in his bathtub and Cromartie disrobed, revealing his robotic endoskeleton to the doctor. The Terminator immersed itself in the formula for several hours, allowing it to cover and set over his body. Later, Cromartie emerged, the flesh having set but grotesquely misshapen. Fleming assisted Cromartie by using a scalpel to cut slits for the android's optics, allowing him to see. Cromartie decided that the doctor had served his purpose and killed him, taking his eyes and placing them over his own optics. Fleming's death did not occur on-screen, but the FBI would later discover his corpse.
