Dwight Frye was a minor character from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., appearing in the Season 3 episode "Devils You Know". He was once an ordinary human until being exposed to Terrigen, becoming an Inhuman with the ability to detect other Inhumans.
History[]
In his early life, Dwight had previously worked with the Social Security Association in their I.T. department. Following the Terrigen outbreak in 2014, he was eventually exposed and underwent Terrigenesis, becoming an Inhuman. His mutation resulted in the ability to detect and recognise other Inhumans, but this ability came with debilitating side effects; close contact with Inhumans affected Dwight like an allergic reaction, causing him severe headaches and blisters appearing all over his body.
At some point following his Terrigenesis, Dwight was approached by the Inhuman called Lash. Lash was on a personal quest to destroy any Inhumans he could find, and so Dwight agreed to help him track down as many as he could using his skills as a computer hacker. He was able to locate two Inhumans living in Hollywood, California, but his activities also drew the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D.. S.H.I.E.L.D. and the ATCU tracked Dwight back to his home and discovered his setup, taking him into custody.
Death[]
While en route to a secure holding facility, the ATCU truck carrying Dwight was attacked and overturned by Lash. Lash disabled Daisy Johnson and Alfonso Mackenzie as well as the ATCU personnel in the truck, but did not kill them. He dragged Dwight out of the truck, laying him on the ground. Dwight explained to Lash that he had told S.H.I.E.L.D. that he was giving mercy to his Inhuman victims, but Lash responded that he wasn't merciful, but necessary. He then used his power to blast a hole through Dwight's chest, killing him instantly.
