Sergeant Elijah Brodski was a supporting character in the sci-fi slasher-horror film Jason X. He was the leader of a group of militant security personnel aboard the starship Grendel. He was portrayed by Peter Mensah.

History[]

Brodski was head of security aboard the Grendel, a ship from Earth II carrying students from New Harvard University on a field trip to the original Earth which had long since been rendered lifeless. Professor Braithwaite Lowe and the students returned to the Grendel with what promised to be a significant historical find: two human bodies that had been cryogenically preserved for hundreds of years. One of these bodies was Rowan LaFontaine who was thawed and awoken upon reaching the Grendel. The other was the infamous immortal serial killer known as Jason Voorhees.

Before long, Jason had thawed out and reanimated, going on a killing spree aboard the ship. Brodski and his troops mobilized while the remaining crew and students locked themselves away in a lab for their own safety. Prof. Lowe attempted to bribe Brodski into capturing Jason alive, which Brodski agreed to until the professor returned to the lab with his students. He had no intention of taking Jason alive, however, and ordered his team to shoot to kill.

Unfortunately, Jason remained every bit as invincible as he had been in the past, easily withstanding the security team's assault as he killed them off one by one and badly injuring Brodski.

Death[]

Towards the film's climax, Brodski rejoins Rowan, Tsunaron, KayEm and Waylander. By this point, Jason has been modified into a cyborg and is stronger than ever before, continuing to pursue the remaining survivors as the patrol vessel Tiamat docked with the Grendel. Momentarily distracted by a virtual version of Camp Crystal Lake created by Tsunaron and the still-functioning KayEm, Jason, realizing the nature of the holograms, charged after Rowan, Tsunaron, and KayEm as they, having unsealed the door leading to the Tiamat, rushed onto the vessel. As the remains of the Grendel collapsed around him, Jason was confronted by a space-suited Brodski and the two were flung into space when the Grendel finally exploded.

Merely launched through space by the explosion, Jason tried latching on to the Tiamat, but was tackled by Brodski and sent plummeting through the atmosphere of Earth II. The unshielded reentry caused both Brodski and Jason to be incinerated.
