Eric Pope (portrayed by Dean Lorey) was a minor character in Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday. He was a mortuary assistant to the coroner Phil who had the dubious "honour" of performing a post-mortem examination of Jason Voorhees, who was believed to have finally been killed by a group of FBI agents. However, before Eric had arrived at the morgue, Phil had already begun the autopsy. During this time, Jason's dark heart resumed beating, its hypnotic rhythm lulling Phil into a trance. In this state, Phil grabbed the heart and ate it, allowing Jason's soul to possess him.
When Eric arrived at the morgue, he had no idea what had become of Phil. He looked over to the examination table at Jason's remains, openly mocking the deceased murderer. However, Jason was now in possession of Phil's body and heard Eric's insults. Reacting with murderous anger, Phil/Jason grabbed a probe off the tray next to the autopsy table and grabbed Eric, shoving his original body's scraps onto the floor and slamming Eric down on the table before stabbing him repeatedly with the probe. The force with which Jason pushed down on him also mashed Eric's face through the table's grating.
