Ernesto De La Cruz is the main antagonist of Coco.
History[]
Ernesto, Prior to the movie was a struggling musician and soon he met Hector Rivera and they became a duo. Later on, he sees Hector has become homesick and is about to return. However, Ernesto pretends to understand and poisons Hector's drink. Soon Hector succumbs to the poison and Ernesto steals Hector's music.
Later on Ernesto becomes a celebrity and his stolen talents even give him a job in acting. During several interviews, he tells people to seize the moment. Soon he does many questionable things.
Death[]
One day, during a concert, Ernesto is singing Remember Me on stage and everybody soon is enthralled. even one of the stagehands becomes so amazed that he accidentally causes a bell to fall on Ernesto, killing him.
Afterlife[]
Ernesto is seen later on hosting a fiesta in his mansion. Soon after a while Miguel falls into the pool and everybody soon is shocked to see Miguel is a human boy. Ernesto becomes shocked to see he has a descendant and they start forging a close relationship. Later on, after having a bit of fun, Hector storms in and Ernesto recognizes his former friend and they quarrel for a bit. Soon after seeing a clip, Hector remembers that night he died and realizes Ernesto killed him. After that an enraged Hector is about to attack but soon he is apprehended by the security. Miguel soon questions his loyalty to Ernesto and soon the skeleton reveals his true nature to the boy. After that he has Miguel tossed in a pit.
Later on, Ernesto encounters the rivera clan and is even smacked by Imelda, who is still upset at Hector. Soon he has his security fight them only for the Riveras to defeat them. Soon after Imelda is put on stage she and Ernesto sing while fighting for a picture. After that she stomps on his foot and snatches the picture. Soon after reigniting her musical passion, Ernesto tries one last time to save his legacy and Miguel even berates him for what happened. All this is filmed by the Riveras and the land of the dead is horrified to see that he would try to kill Miguel. Ernesto soon prepares to go on stage unaware his rant was made public. Soon after he gets on stage he is greeted with hatred and the crowd, now outraged, pelts him with food but not before his conductor quits by breaking his baton. When Ernesto looks at the screen he sees that his vile actions have been revealed. Soon Pepita grabs him and tosses him into a bell, which soon falls on him.
