The Storm King is the main antagonist in My Little Pony: The Movie, the 2017 film of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He is a ruthless tyrant who seeks to take over the world and obtain all the alicorn magic of Equestria, and commands an army of Storm Creatures. He has a goofy personality, while at the same time is one of the most irredeemably evil villains.
He is voiced by Liev Schreiber.
History[]
At some point, the Storm King attempted to steal the hippogriffs' magic (possibly killing their king), forcing them to retreat underwater and use their magic pearl to turn into sea ponies to hide from him.
He also recruited Tempest Shadow, a unicorn who lost her friends after her horn was broken, and told her he'd fix her horn if she got him alicorn magic from all four princesses of Equestria.
Tempest turns three of the princesses, Celestia, Luna, and Cadance, to stone with obsidian orbs, and captures the fourth, Twilight Sparkle. The Storm King absorbs their magic into the Staff of Sacanas, gaining their power. When the other ponies and their allies arrive to fight his Storm Creatures, the Storm King conjures a tornado. When Tempest reminds him of their deal, he double crosses her and tries to kill her now that she is no longer of any use to him. Twilight saves Tempest, and the Storm King is about to kill them both when the other Mane 5 knock him away. Twilight and The Storm King both attempt to retrieve his staff and get sucked into the tornado. However, Twilight survives and dispels the tornado with the staff.
Death[]
The Storm King survives the tornado by hanging onto the balcony, and throws an obsidian orb at the Mane 6. Tempest jumps in front of them and takes the hit, turning both her and the Storm King to stone. The Storm King falls off the balcony and shatters to pieces. His remains are later destroyed when an un-petrified Tempest returns all the magic from the staff and restores Canterlot.
