"Army or not, you must realise that you are doomed." - Grievous, Revenge Of The Sith

General Grievous was a major antagonist in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars CGI TV series and served as a minor villain in Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. A malicious cyborg trained in all manner of combat techniques - including Jedi lightsaber techniques - Grievous served as Supreme Commander of the droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. In both Revenge Of The Sith and the Clone Wars series, Grievous was voiced by Matthew Wood.

Death[]

Although infamous for slaying many Jedi over the course of the Clone Wars, Grievous met with a rather humiliating defeat towards the war's end. In Revenge Of The Sith, he battled Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Separatist base on Utapau, fighting using four lightsabers. The design of his cybernetic body allowed him to perform saber techniques that a human would not be able to match, but he failed to take advantage of this and so the battle went badly for him. He lost the hands on his upper pair of arms and then tried to escape, but Obi-Wan pursued the general to a landing platform and the two adversaries fought without lightsabers. At one point, Obi-Wan managed to pull open Grievous' chestplate, revealing the gut-sack containing most of the general's vital organic parts. Obi-Wan was almost kicked off the landing platform and Grievous moved in to finish him with an electro-pike, but Obi-Wan used the Force to summon a blaster to his hand and fired into Grievous' open chest, incinerating the cyborg's innards and killing him once and for all.
