Gha Nachkt was a minor character from the CG-animated TV show Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He was a Trandoshan scavenger who made his living by salvaging starship parts and droids from war zones. During the Clone Wars, he worked for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. He was voiced by Ron Perlman.
History[]
Gha Nachkt first appeared in the episode "Downfall of a Droid". During the Battle of Bothawui, Anakin Skywalker's interceptor had been damaged in combat. While Anakin survived and was rescued, his ship had been left adrift with R2-D2 still inside the fighter's astromech slot. Nachkt had entered the system after the battle and sifted through the debris of three Confederate dreadnoughts where he discovered Anakin's ship and Artoo, taking the droid for himself.
While Nachkt was scouring the debris field, Anakin had come back along with his padawan Ahsoka Tano. They boarded Nachkt's ship claiming to be looking for a new droid to buy and Nachkt allowed them to look around the cargo hold. While Nachkt claimed that he had no R2 series droids, he had secretly stashed R2-D2 away in a hidden compartment in the ship's cockpit. After Anakin's replacement droid R3-S6 activated a pair of IG-86 assassin droids, Anakin and Ahsoka fought them off, causing significant damage to Nachkt's cargo hold. Nachkt demanded the two Jedi leave, after which he analysed Artoo's memory core, curious as to why the Jedi had gone to so much trouble over the droid. As it turned out, Artoo's memory had never been scrubbed since the day he was first activated and contained a great deal of Republic tactical information that the Separatists could exploit. Nachkt then contacted General Grievous, offering to sell Artoo to him.
Death[]
In the episode "Duel of the Droids", Nachkt met with General Grievous aboard Skytop Station and delivered R2-D2 to him. Nachkt disassembled Artoo in order to extract the information from his memory core, but demanded a higher price from Grievous due to the information's immense value to the Confederacy. Annoyed by Nachkt's greed, Grievous gave the Trandoshan his "bonus" by impaling him through the back with a lightsaber.
