Hans Leggio is a minor character from the animated film Dead Space: Downfall. He is voiced by Jeff Bennett.
History[]
Leggio was a member of the digging team on Aegis VII that had uncovered the mysterious relic known as the Marker. Two weeks prior to the arrival of the USG Ishimura, he had been healthy and mentally sound, but fell under the influence of the Marker and became delusional and psychotic. He murdered two people under the artifact's influence and was subsequently arrested, then taken aboard the Ishimura when the ship arrived.
While under the care of Dr. Terrence Kyne, Leggio was given large doses of sedatives which largely failed to subdue him. He complained of hearing constant noise in his head, hearing voices urging him to kill which the sedatives did nothing to pacify. He eventually flew into full psychotic mania and tried to kill himself by bashing himself in the temple with his fist. However, Kyne administered another sedative which knocked him unconscious before he could cause further harm to himself.
Death[]
Leggio later awoke to find the med lab deserted and stepped outside to investigate a strange growling sound. Following a trail of blood into the ship's morgue, he found that Necromorphs were now infesting the ship and converting the dead bodies taken up from the colony into more of their own. Terrified, Leggio attempted to run away but was impaled through the back by the blade of a Pregnant. His corpse was soon after turned into a Slasher.
When Alissa Vincent and her security team later entered the morgue, they found Leggio's Necromorph body, apparently dead. The creature that was once Leggio was actually only playing dead and sprung to life, attacking Dobbs by biting his neck. The rest of the security team then fired on the creature, tearing it apart with a shower of rounds from their guns.
