Hopper is the main antagonist of the Pixar movie A Bug's Life. The leader of a swarm of grasshoppers, he extorts the anthill for food by threatening the ants with violence.
History[]
When Flik accidentally knocks the grasshopper's food into a river, Hopper demands to know what happened. He soon blames Atta and during his rant, his brother Molt interrupts. He is annoyed at his brother's antics and despite this, he hits another grasshopper. Soon, he gives the colony a second chance, but they must gather double the food. Then they fly back to their desert hideout.
Later on at his lair, Hopper is forming part of his plan when Molt says they shouldn't take the colony's food. Molt also says it was the idea of Axel and Loco, which he soon buries alive in seeds. He even says that it was about keeping ants in line. When he questions his followers, they all decide to follow him to the anthill.
Sometime later, he isn't impressed with the colony's gatherings and takes it over and plans on killing the queen. Dot overhears this and warns Flik about it. Later, despite Atta saying he isn't allowed at the colony, Flik returns and scares hopper with a fake bird. However, he discovers the bird is a fake when P. T. Flea burns it. Seeing that he was tricked, he proceeds to attack Flik.
Later on, Flik inspires the colony to fight back after telling them they outnumber the grasshoppers. Seeing Flik is right, the colony finally gets the guts to fight back. Later, they cause Hopper's army to surrender and flee. Afterwards, he is captured by the circus bugs. However he soon escapes and captures Flik. However, the circus bugs distract him and rip off a piece of his antenna. Atta also rescues Flik, but the grasshopper chases them.
Death[]
Later on, Hopper catches up to them. After that, he attacks Flik yet again and throttles him. He even says he will be back with an even bigger army. Soon a bird appears. Hopper however, thinks it's another fake. Flik lies and says it is. Soon Hopper taunts it only for it to roar at him. Seeing that the bird is real, Hopper attempts to flee, only for the bird to capture him. Soon he gets fed to some baby birds.
