In-gil is a supporting character in the Korean zombie film Train to Busan. She and her younger sister Jong-gil were passengers aboard the KTX 101 train from Seoul to Busan when it suffered a zombie outbreak onboard.
History[]
In-gil and her sister Jong-gil were travelling to Busan on the KTX 101 train from Seoul when the train became infested with zombies. A wounded girl had boarded the train at the last moment before departure and succumbed to the infection before spreading it to numerous other passengers. In-gil and Jong-gil were among a large group of people who closed themselves off in the front few train cars away from the infected, which soon took over the rest of the train.
When the train reached Daejeon Station, the surviving passengers disembarked from the train and made their way towards the station exit where the military had established a quarantine zone. However, the quarantine zone had already been overrun and the soldiers waiting at the exit had all turned into zombies. The survivors turned and ran back for the train, with many of them falling to the horde. In-gil made it back to the train, but was separated from her sister and ended up in an empty car along with Seong-kyeong, Su-an and a homeless man, with numerous infected populating the cars between them and the front of the train.
Fate[]
Seok-woo, Sang-hwa and Yong-guk fought their way through the zombie-infested cars to rescue Seong-kyeong, Su-an, In-gil and the homeless man. However, as they returned to the survivors' car, the selfish Yong-suk closed the door on them, believing that they were all as good as dead already. The group were able to force the door open, but not everyone made it through. Jong-gil watched with sorrow as In-gil was left behind and overwhelmed by the horde.
After Seok-woo, Su-an, Yong-guk, Jin-hee and Seong-kyeong were isolated from the rest of the survivors, Jong-gil looked towards the door separating the survivors from the zombies, seeing her now-undead sister front and center among them. This drove Jong-gil over the edge of sanity and she opened the door, allowing the zombies inside to infect her and the rest of the survivors in the car.
