Isaac McDougal is a minor antagonist in the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist. Appearing only in the first episode, he is a former State Alchemist who specializes in manipulating water, most notably by rapidly freezing or evaporating it. Following the Ishvalan War, McDougal left the military and joined an anti-establishment movement in the hopes of bringing down the Amestrian government and killing Führer Bradley.

History[]
Prior to the events of the series, McDougal had served in the Amestrian Military as a State Alchemist. After witnessing the horrors of the Ishvalan Civil War, he became disillusioned and it is believed that he discovered something relating to the plot devised by the Homunculus Father, though McDougal remained unaware of the existence of Homunculi and thought Führer Bradley to be at the centre of it all. After leaving the military, McDougal joined an anti-establishment movement, vowing to save Amestris by destroying its government. To this end, he attempted to destroy Central using a Philosopher's Stone to amplify his alchemic powers. He created a series of giant ice walls that would extend throughout the city and converge on Central Command, freezing it over and crushing it.
Whilst carrying out his plan, McDougal was confronted by Edward and Alphonse Elric. Though he was the more experienced fighter, Ed and Al proved to be the more inventive alchemists and were able to gain the upper hand, forcing McDougal to flee.
Death[]
As Roy Mustang and Alex Louis Armstrong commanded their forces to demolish his ice walls and transmutation circles, McDougal fled down a dark alley. Here, he encountered none other than the object of his hatred: Führer King Bradley himself. Forming a spear out of his own frozen blood, McDougal charged at Bradley. However, the Führer effortlessly cut him down with his sword with superhuman speed, killing him and putting an end to his rampage.
