Isaac Palmer is a supporting character in the horror movie Final Destination 5. He was a sleazy, womanizing pervert who worked for Presage Paper and was a survivor of the North Bay Bridge Collapse in 1999.
History[]
Isaac was one of several Presage employees to take part in a business retreat organized by the company. While riding on the bus to the retreat, his colleague Sam Lawton experienced a vision of the bridge they were crossing collapsing, resulting in the deaths of everyone on the bus as well as dozens of others, except Molly Harper. When Sam experienced his vision, Isaac was on his way into the bus' washroom, but then followed Sam and six others off the bus after hearing the commotion. As the group got off, they saw the bridge cracking beneath their feet and ran to safety before the bridge collapsed, resulting in the deaths of 86 people, including their 17 co-workers still on the bus.
After the accident, Isaac and the other survivors attended the memorial service for the victims. When Isaac returned to the Presage office, he began rifling through the desks of his deceased co-workers, taking items he liked. In one desk, he found a coupon for a free therapy session at a Chinese spa.
Death[]
When Isaac arrived at the Ming Yun Spa, he sexually harassed the young, attractive receptionist. Disgusted, she decided to take him to receive acupuncture from an old, unattractive woman in a room full of candles and incense. When he walked in, he rubbed and poked a Buddha statue sitting on a shelf on the wall for good luck. His cell phone, which he used to call multiple women, was taken from him by the masseuse and placed on a shelf next to a lit candle. The masseuse performed rough, violent body massage techniques on Isaac, which caused the bolts on the leg of the table he was laying on to give way. After the masseuse finished the acupuncture on him, she left him to sleep for 30 minutes.
One of the coals from the burning incense crumbled off and fell onto a piece of parchment below, setting it aflame. Isaac saw this, and, in a panic, stumbled off the table, causing the legs to give way, sending him to the floor face down, driving the acupuncture needles painfully, but non-fatally, into his body. A large bottle of alcohol was knocked over and covered him and the floor. Isaac got up painfully, with the needles stuck into his body and face, and tried to pull one out. During this distraction, Isaac's cell phone began to vibrate, slowly moving the candle next to it off the shelf and into the alcohol. The alcohol was set ablaze and Isaac stumbled into the far wall of the room. However, the fire stopped just short of him. As he whimpered in relief, the shelf above him holding one of the Buddha statues gave way and it crushed his head into a pulp.
