Janet Cunningham was a main character in the horror film The Final Destination. She was a college student from McKinley, Pennsylvania and a survivor of the McKinley Speedway collapse in 2009.
History[]
In January 2009, Janet and her boyfriend Hunt Wynorski visited the McKinley Speedway to watch the Megatech 300 race with their friends Nick O'Bannon and Lori Milligan. During the race, Nick experienced a premonition of a terrible crash that would also cause the partial collapse of the stadium, resulting in many deaths. When Nick panicked, he started a commotion with some of the other spectators and was led outside, with Lori, Hunt and Janet following. Moments later, the disaster that Nick had foreseen actually happened.
After the accident, Janet visited the Death by Caffeine coffee shop with Hunt, Lori and Nick, still shocked over the accident. There, they witnessed a news report on the memorial service being held at the speedway, but Janet refused to go back. The next day, Janet watched a news report on Carter Daniel's death, and contacted Lori to tell her what happened. After Samantha Lane's death, Nick and Lori tried to warn Janet and Hunt that Death was still after them, but they didn't believe them.
The next day, Janet visited the car wash only for the machinery to malfunction. With her car's sun-roof jammed open, her car was flooded with water and she struggled to keep her head above it. She was able to stick her head out of the sun-roof, but it closed on her neck, trapping her as the car was brought through the rotating brushes. Luckily, Lori and George arrived just in time to save her.
Three days later, Janet went shopping with Lori, and afterwards they went to the mall cinema. When Lori began to see the same omens that Nick saw before the speedway accident, she tries to warn Janet, but Janet refused to listen to her. Meanwhile, Nick had another premonition of a disastrous mall explosion that would kill all three of them and raced to the mall to stop it before it occurred.
Death[]
Two weeks later, Nick, Lori, and Janet visited Death by Caffeine, and Nick saw several more omens foreshadowing their deaths. He realized that everything they had been through was just a feint meant to lead them to where they needed to be for Death to strike. As he relayed this information to Lori and Janet, the scaffolding next to the coffee shop fell over and landed in the middle of the road. A truck swerved to avoid hitting it and crashed right into the coffee shop, running over Nick, Lori, and Janet and finally killing all three of them.
Nick's, Lori's and Janet's deaths are viewed in x-ray format. Janet is shown to be crushed under the truck's front left wheel, her spine and ribcage being shattered.
