Jango Fett (portrayed by Temuera Morrison) is one of the main antagonists of Star Wars - Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. He is a highly skilled and deadly bounty hunter who wears a suit of Mandalorian armour, a relic of the Mandalorian Civil War that Fett himself participated in. Ten years prior to the film's events, Jango had been hired by Count Dooku to serve as the genetic template for the Republic's future clone army. As well as being paid a hefty sum, Jango also requested that an unaltered clone be produced as his "son". Jango's son - Boba - would later surpass his father's notoriety as the deadliest bounty hunter in the galaxy.

Film history[]

In 22 BBY, Jango is revealed to have been hired by the Confederacy of Independent Systems to assassinate Padme Amidala, who has been fighting against a Military Creation Act in the Republic Senate. The assassination fails and Obi-Wan Kenobi's following investigation leads him to the planet Kamino, where he discovers that the Kaminoans have created an army of clones supposedly for the Republic. It is here that Obi-Wan also encounters Jango and engages him in combat in order to take him into custody. Although he isn't Force-sensitive, Jango is by no means an easy opponent and manages to hold his own against the Jedi master. He escapes to the planet Geonosis where he rendezvous' with Count Dooku and the other Separatist leaders and assists with the capture of Padme and Anakin inside the droid factory.

Death of Jango Fett

During the battle inside the Petranaki Arena, Jango finds himself combatting Jedi master Mace Windu. Though he fared well against Obi-Wan on Kamino, he is not so lucky when fighting Windu, who manages to deflect every shot Jango fires at him. Windu quickly closes the gap between them and decapitates Jango with his lightsaber. The young Boba witnesses his father's death from a distance and is last seen holding Jango's severed head, still in its helmet. During The Clone Wars TV series, Boba sets out to avenge his father's death by targetting Mace Windu with the help of a group of bounty hunters.
