Jataaka was a supporting character in the animated straight-to-DVD film Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match. Based on the character of the same name from the Mortal Kombat games, she is a demonic warrior and a member of the Brotherhood of Shadow, a sinister cult that worships the fallen Elder God Shinnok.
History[]
After Kia and David Doubldy are both killed trying to acquire the scroll in Johnny Cage's possession, the Brotherhood of Shadow send Jataaka to retrieve it. She is also instructed to keep Johnny alive as the actor is also essential to the cult's plans.
Johnny meets Jataaka when his investigation of the scroll brings him to Hollywood's Magical Mansion. Johnny claims to seek membership into the private club and Jataaka offers to give him a "personal tour", leading him down into an old subway tunnel beneath the mansion from which she intends to bring him back to the Brotherhood's lair. However, Ashrah suddenly appears and clashes with Jataaka before grabbing Johnny. The two run through the tunnels and emerge out by the NOHO sign, but Jataaka catches up to them.
Death[]
Ashrah and Johnny fight Jataaka together, who attacks using her fire magic, setting the NOHO sign ablaze. During the fight, she tries to entice Johnny into joining the Brotherhood, but Johnny flatly rejects her. All of a sudden, Johnny's assistant Chuck Golden arrives on the scene, slamming his van into Jataaka and sending her flying into the burning NOHO sign.
Just before Johnny, Chuck and Ashrah are about to leave the scene, Jataaka suddenly emerges from the flames, her body horribly burned all over. She leaps down from the sign to attack, but Johnny kills her with a roundhouse kick that severs her head from her body.
