CT-5597 - nicknamed "Jesse" - was a supporting character throughout Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He was a Republic clone trooper who served under Anakin Skywalker in the 501st Legion as an Advanced Recon Commando (ARC). He made numerous appearances throughout the series, usually supporting Anakin or Clone Captain Rex during dangerous missions. He was recognised without his helmet thanks to the Republic Grand Army symbol tattooed over his head. Like all clone troopers in the series, he was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.

Death[]

Jesse would perish in the final episode of The Clone Wars, "Victory and Death". During Season 7's final story arc, the 332nd Division were travelling aboard the Star Destroyer Tribunal back to Coruscant after capturing the former Sith apprentice Maul and liberating Mandalore from his control. However, during the Tribunal's return voyage, the ship received a transmission from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, now revealed to be the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious. Sidious issued the command to execute Order 66, which labelled all Jedi as traitors to the Republic who were to be executed on sight. Jesse and every other clone who received the order were compelled to carry it out due to a neural inhibitor biochip implanted in their brains during the breeding process. The only clone who wouldn't follow the order would be Captain Rex, who was rendered unconscious by Ahsoka and had his biochip surgically removed, freeing him from Sidious' brainwashing.

While Jesse and most of the clone troopers were attempting to execute Ahsoka and Rex, Maul - who had been released from his Force-proof containment cell - was running amok on the ship, killing everyone who stood in his way. He made his way to the ship's hyperdrive generators, using the Force to tear them down and cause catastrophic damage. As a result, the Tribunal exited hyperspace prematurely, appearing above an unidentified moon. With the engines damaged, the ship could not escape from the moon's gravitational field and the clones had destroyed the escape pods in order to stop Ahsoka from escaping. Ahsoka and Rex made their way to the main hangar to try and take a support craft, but Jesse and the entire clone battalion were waiting for them. Despite Rex's attempts to reason with him, Jesse ignored the Captain's pleas, determined to kill Ahsoka no matter the cost. Due to a combination of their own skills, Maul's interference and lucky happenstance, Ahsoka and Rex were able to get past the clone soldiers and escape the doomed ship in a Y-Wing. Though Ahsoka and Rex had managed to thwart the clones without killing any of them, none of them would survive when the Tribunal crashed on the moon's surface. Following the crash, Ahsoka buried the fallen clones and respectfully marked their graves with their helmets.
