Lieutenant John Wilkins is an antagonist in the 1994 live-action version of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book.
History[]
Wilkins is first seen when he arrives to see a soaked Boone. He tries to kill Mowgli, but is spooked by the jungle boy's friends. Soon he spots Mowgli and alerts the fort. Later he sees him and thinks he's going to hurt Kitty. Soon he spots a dagger Buldeo stole from Mowgli. He thinks that there's more treasure. Soon he arrives at the fort's dungeon and tries to interrogate the jungle boy. Later at a tavern he becomes part of a plan to steal more treasure.
Sometime later, he humiliates Mowgli during a party. Later, he and his fellow soldiers attack Colonel Brydon, but not before he and Boone injure Baloo. He is present when Mowgli agrees to take them to the treasure. Later that night, he is spooked by the animal noises. The next morning, he unsuccessfully tries to rescue Harley from quicksand. Later he sees Tabaqui plummet to his demise.
Death[]
After arriving at the lost city, Wilkins ends up being separated from the others and tries to find his way back. In a panic he shoots Buldeo in his leg. Soon, he comes face to face with Shere Kahn. After a few moments he proceeds to run but the tiger chases him. Soon the tiger pounces on Wilkins and mauls him to death.
