Jonathan Groves was a minor character from the horror film, The Final Destination. He was the sixth survivor of the McKinley Speedway disaster in 2009.
History[]
On January 6th 2009, Groves visited McKinley Speedway to watch the Megatech 300 race. Sitting in the row ahead of Nick O'Bannon and Lori Milligan, the cowboy hat he was wearing obstructed Lori's view. When Nick and Lori asked him to move, Groves politely obliged.
When Nick experienced a vision of the upcoming accident, he saw Groves get crushed to death when a flaming car slammed him against a support pillar. He then panicked and left the stadium and his friends followed after him, resulting in their survival. However, Nick had only asked Groves to move in his vision, but didn't speak to him after he snapped out of it. When the accident occurred, Groves was still caught up in it, but survived with severe injuries. He was dug out of the rubble and taken to a hospital, listed as "John Doe" until his family contacted him days later.
Death[]
In the hospital, one of the orderlies had left a bathtub running on the floor above Groves' and it slowly began to overflow and spill water all over the floor. The ceiling of Groves' room began to leak water and a wounded Groves tried to call for help. Some of the water dripped on the help button and shorted it out.
Groves painfully got out of bed and slid his way across the floor as the room began to fill up with water. Suddenly, Nick O'Bannon and George Lanter showed up in an attempt to rescue Groves. Just as they were about to, the tub on the floor above him fell through the ceiling and right on top of Groves, crushing him to death.
