Kat Jennings was a main character in the horror film Final Destination 2. She was an independent businesswoman and a survivor of the Route 23 pileup incident. She was the fourth survivor to die in the film.
History[]
On May 13th 2000, Kat was driving her car towards Route 23 when she was forced to stop on the on-ramp. Traffic was being held up by Kimberly Corman, who had seen a prophetic vision of a terrible accident on the highway. Surely enough, the pileup that Kimberly had envisioned does occur. Had Kat been on the highway when the logs fell from a lumber truck, she would have been among the casualties.
After the incident, Kat and the other survivors are questioned by the police and Kimberly explains what she had seen in her premonition, invoking the memory of the Flight 180 disaster the previous year when seven people had gotten off the plane before it exploded right after takeoff. Those survivors all fell victim to a series of mysterious and fatal accidents following the disaster and Kimberly believed that it was going to happen to her and the pileup survivors too.
Kat returned home after the police interview, unconvinced by Kimberly's warning. However, while she was working out on her treadmill, she saw a TV report stating that Evan Lewis, one of the pileup survivors, had been killed in a freak accident. Concerned for her safety, Kat met with the other remaining survivors the next day at Thomas Burke's apartment where Clear Rivers outlined a plan for them to cheat Death. Stressed out and still not entirely convinced, Kat stepped outside to smoke. Her attitude changes when she witnesses Nora Carpenter's gruesome death in an elevator. Realizing that she will be next to die, she agrees to assist in the group's plan to find and protect Isabella Hudson, who is pregnant and is believed to have been another of the victims in Kimberly's original premonition.

The next day, Kat drives herself, Clear, Kimberly, Eugene Dix, Burke, and Rory Peters to the hospital to see Isabella. Suddenly, a tire bursts and her car goes skidding off the road and through a load of PVC pipes, which causes a long PVC pipe to be propelled through Kat's headrest, although Kat is not harmed. Everyone is fine except Eugene, who has a collapsed lung after a PVC pipe hit him. Everyone gets out of the car except for Kat, as she has been wedged in the SUV by a huge log. As the rescue crew are trying to get her out of the car, Kat begins smoking. She asks a rescue worker operating the jaws of life to work a little quieter, causing the bemused man to ram it into the car extra hard, accidentally causing the airbag to deploy. The force of the airbag pushes Kat's head back onto the pipe, and as the airbag deflates the rescue worker realizes that he accidentally killed her. Her cigarette drops out of her hand into the fuel leakage, instigating a chain reaction which results in Rory's death.
