Laserbeak is a supporting antagonist in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Originally a Cybertronian mechanimal, he was captured by Soundwave and re-purposed into a sentient Transformer, becoming a Decepticon spy and assassin. He was voiced by Keith Szarabajka.
History[]
In 2012, the Decepticons had enacted a plan to seize control of Earth and revive Cybertron by allowing the Autobots to revive Sentinel Prime. They had allowed the Autobots to learn of the presence of Cybertronian technology salvaged from the Ark, Sentinel's spacecraft, which had crash-landed on Earth's moon long ago and had been the whole reason behind the 1969 moon landing. Once the Autobots had retrieved the Ark's fuel cell from Chernobyl and proceeded with the recovery of Sentinel from the moon, Megatron decided that the Decepticons' various human collaborators had fulfilled their purpose. Soundwave sent Laserbeak to tie up loose ends by killing all of their human contacts.
Laserbeak went about picking off every last human contact, finishing with Jerry Wang. However, Wang had passed on a series of documents to Sam Witwicky, a human friend of the Autobots. Laserbeak killed Wang by pushing him out of the window, but Sam had heard the commotion and came back to the office. Laserbeak transformed into a photo copier to hide from Sam, but had to break cover when another Accuretta employee tried to use him. He tried to attack Sam, but clipped his wing within the confined space of the office, and so Sam was able to escape.
Death[]
Laserbeak later participated in the invasion of the city of Chicago, and waited for Sentinel to activate his space bridge pillars in Dylan Gould's penthouse. When Sam arrived to rescue Carly Spencer, Laserbeak transformed out of his CD player disguise and grabbed Sam with his talons and threw him out of the window. But Sam was saved by Bumblebee and his newly acquired Decepticon gunship. Laserbeak tried knocking a military drone into the fighter to jam its engines, and struggled with Sam on top of the fighter. Sam managed to hold Laserbeak's head in front of one of the fighter's guns and had Bumblebee fire, decapitating and killing Laserbeak.
