Hawk, First Contact

Lieutenant Hawk (portrayed by Neal McDonough) was the helmsman of the USS Enterprise-E in Star Trek: First Contact. During the Enterprise's mission in the year 2063, Hawk accompanied Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Lt. Commander Worf on to the ship's outer hull in an environmental suit. Their objective was to disengage the particle emitter of the ship's deflector dish which the Borg were turning into an interplexing beacon. The beacon would allow the 24th century Borg aboard the Enterprise to contact the Borg living in the 21st century, summoning reinforcements to assimilate Earth.

Picard, Worf and Hawk worked to release the magnetic clamps locking the beacon in place, though doing so attracted the attention of the Borg drones assembling the device. As Hawk struggled to work a jammed mag-lock cylinder, a Borg drone marched over to him and grabbed him, carrying him out of sight. Minutes later, as Captain Picard reached for his phaser rifle to sever the cable connecting the beacon to the ship, Hawk appeared again, having been assimilated by the Borg. Hawk attacked Picard and was about to smash the captain's space helmet, but was suddenly shot in the chest by Worf. The impact of the phaser pulse knocked Hawk clear of the ship, sending him floating off into space.
