Martin Bedell (portrayed by Will Rothaar) was a minor character in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Appearing in the Season 2 episode "Goodbye To All That", he was a member of John Connor's Resistance cell during the war against the machines, helping to develop improvised weapons to use against Skynet's robot armies. Due to his important role among Connor's command staff, Skynet marked Bedell for termination and sent a T-888 infiltrator back in time to kill him before he could become a member of the Resistance.
In 2008, the Connors and Derek Reese discovered that Bedell had been targeted after reading about the murder of another person called Martin Bedell in the newspaper. Learning there were two other Martin Bedells in the phonebook, the team split up to try and defend the would-be victims with Sarah and Cameron abducting a young boy for his protection. Meanwhile, John and Derek enlisted at Presidio Alto Military Academy where the T-888's true target was located. During this time, John got to know Bedell as a fellow student while Derek took on the role of teacher. Eventually, the T-888 came for Bedell, but John and Derek had prepared for the Terminator's arrival and lured it into a trap in the woods. The 888 fell into the trap and was destroyed with armour-piercing rounds.
Their job done and the future secured, John and Derek left Presidio Alto. On their way home, Derek revealed that Martin Bedell had died during the Future War and had witnessed the death himself. Bedell had bombed an Ogre-class Hunter-Killer tank in order to rescue a convoy of human prisoners on their way to a Skynet death camp. He was killed during the operation, but his sacrifice saved the lives of forty prisoners, including John Connor himself.
