Mileena was a minor character in the 2021 martial arts movie Mortal Kombat. Based on the character from the video game series, she is a savage, cannibalistic warrior from the realm of Outworld who uses a pair of sai in battle. She also possesses the power of teleportation, with which she can confound her opponents and strike at them from any angle.
History[]
Mileena appeared when she reported to Shang Tsung that Sub-Zero had killed Earthrealm warrior Jax Briggs, but another Earthrealm warrior - Cole Young - managed to escape. Tsung ordered Mileena to send more assassins after Cole, but the two were unaware that Jax survived, though he had lost both arms.
Another assassin, Reptile, was dispatched to track down Cole and kill him, but was himself killed by Kano. After this failed attempt, Mileena, along with Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung, attacked Raiden's temple in which the Earthrealm warriors trained, but Lord Raiden himself created a force field that prevented the Outworld warriors from entering. In Outworld, Tsung and his warriors discussed how to enter the temple, and Kabal came up with the idea of converting Kano to their side by offering him wealth and power.
After Kano disabled the force field, the Outworld warriors stormed into the temple. Mileena attacked Sonya Blade and defeated her, but did not kill her because she sensed that she did not have a Chosen One's blood and was not worth her time, leaving her wounded and teleporting away.
After the fight, Lord Raiden teleported the Earthrealm warriors to the Void. There, Cole (who had unlocked his arcana by killing Goro), said that they could not leave Earth in the hands of the Outworld warriors and they must keep fighting, before asking Raiden to transfer each of the Earthrealm warriors to a particular Outworld kombatant, to which Raiden agreed.
Death[]
Mileena and Kabal fought against Cole and Liu Kang. Mileena battled fiercely with Cole and showed off her Tarkatan teeth. Sonya (who obtained the dragon mark by killing Kano and freeing her arcana) showed up in the nick of time to help Cole in the fight. Sonya used her newfound power and fired an energy bolt at Mileena, which blasted through her torso and killed her.
