N'Jobu (portrayed by Sterling K. Brown) was a minor character in the Marvel Studios film Black Panther. He is already deceased by the events of the film, having been killed in 1992.

N'Jobu was the younger brother of T'Chaka, the King of Wakanda. He was also an agent of the War Dogs, Wakanda's central intelligence agency. While working as an undercover operative in the United States of America, he fell in love with an American woman and they had a child together.

During his time in the U.S., N'Jobu became increasingly aware of the hardships that people of African descent had to endure. He became convinced that the continuing oppression of blacks was due largely to Wakanda's isolationist policies; his nation was cut off from the rest of the world and refused to offer aid to African descendants that were suffering. N'Jobu believed that the only solution to this problem was to incite revolution by supplying Wakanda's vibranium-based weapons to African citizens around the world so that they could rise up against their oppressors. To this end, he contacted the international arms dealer Ulysses Klaue and provided him with information on Wakanda. Klaue used this information to infiltrate the hidden nation and steal a supply of vibranium, killing several Wakandans in the process.

Death[]

In 1992, N'Jobu and his friend James were planning to break N'Jobu's wife out of prison. That night, they were unexpectedly visited by T'Chaka. Though T'Chaka greeted N'Jobu warmly, he knew of his brother's treachery and that he had acquired vibranium through Klaue. It turned out that N'Jobu's partner James was actually Zuri, the king's confidant, and had been spying on him throughout his assignment. T'Chaka informed N'Jobu that he was to be taken back to Wakanda to stand trial, but N'Jobu would not come quietly. Outraged by Zuri's betrayal, he drew a gun to shoot him, but T'Chaka reacted quickly and struck first, stabbing his brother in the chest with his Panther Claws.
