Ned Rubinstein (played by Mark Nelson) was a supporting character in the original Friday the 13th. He was among a group of young people working to repair and reopen Camp Crystal Lake in 1980. He was considered to be the "clown" of the group, frequently making tasteless and even dangerous jokes, as demonstrated when he pretended to drown in the lake and almost shot Brenda Jones with a bow and arrow while she was standing next to an archery target. He was also a pervert who liked to flirt with all the female counselors, even those who had boyfriends.
Death[]
Ned was killed by Pamela Voorhees off-screen and was the fourth person to die in the film. In the late afternoon, Ned witnessed a shadowy figure (Pamela) walk into an empty cabin. He called out to the stranger but received no reply and followed them into the cabin.
Later in the evening, Marcie Stanler and her boyfriend Jack Marand are seen in the cabin having sex. What they don't notice is that Ned's body is lying in the bunk above them with his throat slit.
