Olivia Rachel Castle was a supporting character in the horror film Final Destination 5. She was an office assistant at Presage Paper and a survivor of the North Bay Bridge Collapse in 1999.
History[]
Olivia was on her way to a corporate retreat with her colleagues when Sam Lawton experienced a premonition that the bridge they were crossing would collapse, killing everyone on it. When Sam panicked, Olivia followed him the bus and witnessed the bridge collapse moments later just as Sam predicted.
Olivia later met up with the other survivors at the memorial service for those who perished during the accident. During Dennis Lapman's speech, she couldn't help but laugh at Isaac and Nathan's jokes even during such a sad occasion. After Candice's death, she returned to work and approached Sam and Molly about the grievance pay. When they discussed Candice's death, Olivia joked about how everyone should have seen "that coming" due to the dangerous stunts gymnasts perform. Sam and Molly, however, were less than impressed at her comment. Olivia then had some drinks before visiting her eye doctor so that she could her live her life the fullest without glasses.
Death[]
When Olivia went to have her eye surgery, her head was tightly secured and her right eyelid was pried open with a speculum. She squeezed a teddy bear out of nervousness, pulling off one of its eyes which fell onto the floor. When the eye doctor saw there was missing file information, he left to consult his secretary. A cup of water that Olivia left on top of a water cooler fell over when the cooler bubbled and the cup spilled onto the power unit of the laser machine plugged into the wall. The intensity of the ray increased and the laser machine started to shake. As Olivia reached for the emergency stop button on the control, she accidentally knocked it to the floor and the activation button is pressed instead, discharging the laser into her right eye.
As Olivia screamed out in anguish, the laser discharged into her left hand as she used it to try to shield her left eye. The laser discharged into her eye once more. When Sam and Molly arrived at the front office to save her, the doctor assured them that she was fine. When they heard Olivia screaming, they rushed to her room.
Sobbing in pain, Olivia managed to release her head from the clamp and get off the table. However, being in high heel boots, Olivia tripped over the teddy bear's glass eye on the floor and stumbled out the window, shattering it, and plummeting 4 storeys onto a parked car's windshield below, instantly killing her. As Olivia's body dropped onto the ground, her undamaged eye then rolls into the street and was soon run over by a passing car.
